A Modeling Framework of Object-Oriented Simulation

Based on object oriented paradigm, concepts of system theory and DEVS formalism, and object oriented simulation modeling (OSM) framework is proposed, which consists of modeling framework and control framework. Modeling framework provides the structures and methods to describe the system components and their interrelations as well as behaviors local to the object and interaction and communications between objects. Control framework gives a more flexible control structure that separates different simulation control functions. This paper provides a concept framework for object oriented simulation and a theoretic basis for developing new simulation modeling systems.
