Application of Weighted Principal Component Analysis in Comprehensive Evaluation for Variable Speed Limits
|
Abstract:
By making a study on Variable Speed Limits(VSL) projects, this paper presents a comprehensive Weighted Principal Component Analysis(WPCA) model for the socio-economic impact evaluation of VSL projects and an example is introduced based on simulated program. The evaluation results show that WPCA model can combine organically the objectivity of principal component analysis with the subjectivity of Analytic Hierarchy Process and can judge effectively the optimal speed-limiting value under the different volume of traffic, so the evaluation results should be more overall.
