The Influence of Decreasing Toll on Cost Evolution of Traffic System with Two Lanes

The changing toll in a traffic system affects the equilibrium state. Focusing on the effects of decreasing toll on traffic flow and system cost, this paper deals with the cost evolution models by dynamically analyzing the cost and demand. A constraint considering the relation between marginal demand and velocity is formulated, which may benefit the road-pricing and traffic control.
