The effect of dissipation on a system of two conservation laws is described by a quasili-near Hyperbolic System,where big initial data which ensure the existence of the global smoothsolution to this system are not clear.Making use of the characteristic curve method,we givea set of theorems to identify the condition for the existence and nonexistence of the globalsmooth solution.
