THE GI/M/1 QUEUEING SYSTEM WITH SINGLE EXPONENTIAL VACATION

Abstract:
In this paper,a detailed analysis of the G(?)/M/(?) queueing system with exhaustive serviceand single exponential vacation is given.The transition matrix of the imbedded Markovchain is expressed in a block-Jacobi form and a matrix-geometric solution is presented.Thedistribution of the queue length in the stable state is derived and is shown to decompose intothe distribution of the sum of three independent variables.In addition,the distribution andrandom decomposition of the waiting time is discussed.
