The role of super-exchange in magnetic properties of paramagnetic Er3Ga5O12

Abstract:
Magnetization of Er 3Ga 5O 12 is calculated at low temperatures and high magnetic field by using quantum theory. Through quantitive calculation, its magnetization is proved to be complex and anisotropic when the magnetic field is applied parallel to 100] or 111] directions. It can be concluded that super-exchange of paramagnetic is an important factor on the magnetic properties.
