A novel electrooptical switching in PPLN waveguide

Abstract:
Based on analyzing the characteristics of all optical wavelength converter with the cascaded second order nonlinearities in periodically poled LiNbO 3 waveguides, the scheme of controlling the PPLN wavelength converter by electrooptical effectively is proposed, and a brief demonstration is given. The benefit of this scheme is that not only the phase dismatch can be compensated, but also the optical switching can be realized by electrooptical effect in lithium niobate.
