Abstract:

A theoretical scheme is proposed for realizing the elementary quantum logic operations (one\|qubit gate and two\|qubit controlled rotation gate) with a single trapped cold ion driven by classical laser beams. The relevant experimental parameters for the realizations are given by numerical method. It may be performed easily by the present experimental technology, as neither the auxiliary atomic level nor the Lamb\|Dicke limit is required in the present scheme.
