A Arachnia sp.P163 producing alcohol dehydrogenase which is able to reduce aminoacetophenone to R\|1\|phenyl\|2\|aminoethanol was obtained from soil and cultures.The maximum activity of enzyme was produced by the LB medium containing 1% sodium citrate and peptone,0 1% phenylaminoethanol as inducer at 30℃ for 48 hs.
