Bacterial Diversities of Microbial Mats in Two Hot Springs in Tengchong Rehai of Yunnan
|
Abstract:
The microbial mats of two hot springs in Tengchong Rehai of Yunnan, China, were analyzed by microscopy and PCR denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis. Total DNAs directly extracted from environmental samples were amplified by PCR with two sets of bacteria specific primers. The PCR products, which include the V8 and V9 high variable regions respectively, were analyzed using DGGE. By comparing the morphology and DGGE patterns, the results not only indicated rich bacterial diversity profiles but also showed the microbial community differences between the two extreme environments.
