THE TAXONOMIC POSITION OF PEANUT RHIZOBIA
|
Abstract:
Twenty two rhizobial strains isolated from two peanut cultivars and four different sites in Sichuan province, and twelve strains representing presently recoqniz'ed Rhizobium and Bradyrhizobium were used for studying the taxonomic position of peanut rhizobia by restriction fragment length polymorphism of PCR-Amplified 16S rRNA genes (PCR-RFLP) and partial sequencing of 16S rRNA genes. The results indicated that Schuan peanut rhizobia were closely related to Bradyrhizobium japonicum.
