The Identification and Fermentation of a Streptomyces Strain Producing a Fibrinolytic Enzyme
|
Abstract:
The morphological, cultural, physiological and chemotaxonomical characteristics of Streptomyces C-3662, a soil isolate which produces a fibrinolytic enzyme, were studied. Most of these characteristics are the same or very similar to those of Streptomyces eurythermus. The 16S rDNA sequence of the strain was also determined and compared with those in the Genbank, resulting a mucleotide sequence identity of 98.19% with 16S rDNA of Streptomyces eurythermus. From the polyphasic taxonomical view, Streptomyces C-3662 belongs to Streptomyces eurythermus. Suitable medium for optimal fermentation of fibrinolytic enzyme by Streptomyces C-3662 comprises 2.5% glucose and 1.0% starch as carbon sources, 2% soybean meal as nitrogen source and some inorganic salts such as MgSO 4. The fermenttion course of Streptomyces C-3662 was investigated which showed that fibrinolytic enzyme was produced after the growth of Streptomyces C-3662 nearly ceased.
