Screening of Antihypertensive Probiotic

Experiment in vitro of inhibition to ACE(Angiotensin converting enzyme) indicates that 27 of 40 Lactobacillus stored in lab can inhibit the activity of ACE. Of those, L.salivarius La5, L.salivarius Lma1, L.plantarum LP529, L.plantarum LS12, L.plantarum LS31, L.helveticus ZL51 show better effect. Those Lactobacillus were studied with standard of probiotics, including resistance to acid, bile salt, antibiotic and inhibition to bacterium. The result shows that L.plantarum LP529, L.plantarum LS12, L.plantarum LS31, L.helveticus ZL51 can be considered as probiotics and applied to antihypertensive product.
