Effects of Acid Production of Achromatium sp. on Desorption of Soil Heavy Metals and Their Uptake by Elsholtzia splendens
|
Abstract:
An incubation experiment and a pot experiment were conducted to investigate the influences of an Achromatium sp. strain on the desorption of Cu/Zn of a soil contaminated by heavy metals and the growth and the uptake of Cu/Zn of Elsholtzia splendens. The results indicated that the strain produced more acid in the incubation experiment (pH = 4.65) than in the pot one (7.3 < pH < 8.2); The soluble Cu concentration in the soil solution was significantly positively correlated to pH while the soluble Zn concentration significantly negatively to pH value; Compared with CK, the bacterium increased E. splendens shoot biomass and shoot Cu content, and increased significantly (p < 0.05) Cu cleaning-up by E. splendens from the soil polluted by heavy metals.
