Soil Environmental Geochemical Response to Social and Economic Development in Shantou City, Guangdong Province
|
Abstract:
The contents of 8 kinds of heavy metals in 115 soil samples in Shantou City were measured and evaluated by the national soil environmental standards to assess heavy metal pollution. The results showed that Hg and Pb contents in 70.43% and 56.52% of soil samples were higher than the standards, and other heavy metals also accumulated at different extents except As, which indicated a high influence from human activities. The contents of heavy metal elements in soils of Shantou City varied greatly in the different districts due to soil location and industrial distribution. Factor Analysis and Cluster Analysis attributed the 8 kinds of heavy metals to 4 main factors, and finally the resources of the heavy metals were also analyzed.
