EFFECT OF NaCl ON IMPROVING THE ACTIVITY OF PEDIOCIN ISK-1

The effect of NaCl on the production of pediocin ISK-1 by Pediococcus sp. ISK-1 was studied. Considerable attention has been foccused on the relationship between the metabolite production of bacteriocin and cell growth. Supplement of 8% NaCl to MRS medium produced the highest antimicrobial activity, which can be more than 25% higher.
