STUDES ON THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS FACTORS ON PROTOPLAST TRANSFORMATION IN BACILLUS SUBTILIS

Using BaciIIus subtilis DB104 as a host and plasmid PNQ122 as a heterogeneous DNA, the effects of regeneration pereentage and concentrahon of protoplast as well as the incubation hme of the bacterial cells on the bosformahon efficiency in Bsubtilis were studied. The ophmal parameters to achieve a high drisformation efficiency have been obtained and their availablity has been proved in the transformation of various B.subtilis strains and in the cloning of npr gene from B.subtilis.
