Differences of Hydrocarbon Reservoir Forming between Southwestern Tarim Basin and Kuche Mountain Front
|
Abstract:
The exploration of Kuche mountain front has made a great success in the past few years, which greatly promoted the exploration of southwestern Tarim basin mountain front. In fact, differences exist in the hydrocarbon resource, transforming patterns and key reservoir-controlling factors of the two mountain fronts. Therefore full attention should be paid to the reservoir forming characteristics of southwestern Tarim mountain front. The source rock in Kuche mountain front is mainly coal bed of Jurassic, followed that of Triassic. The early big fault penetrates source rock and reservoir directly, the main transforming pattern is “direct connect slanting T”.The closely folding and high steep imbricate arrangements control the distribution of hydrocarbon, and local structures control reservoir forming. But the source rock in southwestern Tarim basin is mainly Carboniferous-Permian marine faces source rock, followed Jurassic coal beds. The relationship between the early forming buried slide big fault and reservoir is very complicated, and “replace upward F” is the main transforming pattern. Two direction compress high steep imbricate arrangements control the reservoir solely.Totally speaking, the area with Carboniferous-Permian marine faces source rocks, early forming buried slide big faults and integrate slide anticline traps is the favorable exploration direction.
