There are many Mesozoic-Cenozoic era coal-bearing basins in Northeast China, Xinjiang autonomous region, Erdos, etc. The coal reserves of the basins is about 40% of the total coal reserves in China. The basins usually are preserved very well, most of them have very chick coal seams, coal-rich belts and coal-rich area.
