SYSTEMATIC CONTROL EFFECT OF STRUCTURES ON PERMEABILITY\=OF HIGH COAL RANK RESERVOIRS
|
Abstract:
Qinshui Basin is a high coal rank basin which has a great potential of gas in China.Based on the abound well-testing permeability data, system fracture observation results and its tectonic setting, the control effect of structural setting on high coal rank reservoirs is discussed using the composite methods of qualitative and quantitative analyses. Some achievements and recoveries are made as follows: The tectonic styles play an important role in controlling the permeability of coal reservoirs. The relation between main curvature and permeability shows that the tectonic curvature, ranging from 0.05 to 0.2,is favorable for enhancing permeability. The permeability of high rank coal increases exponentially with the increase of the main stress difference of modern tectonic stress field, however, with the increase of burial depth, the control effect of modern tectonic stress field on the permeability of coal reservoirs below the critical burial depth will become weaker and weaker, whereas the control effect of vertical stress will increase.
