SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY AND MECHANISM OF THE COAL FORMATION IN JURASSIC OF BAIJIAHAI AREA IN JUNGGAR BASIN

Abstract:
Coal bed plays a reference role in sequence division and correlation.Taking Jurassic Formation of Baijiahai area in Junggar basin as an example,we analyze some inner and outer factors in stages of the Coal Formation such as degree of supply of clastic substance,configuration of paleogeomorphy,change of lake level(change of base level),climate and paleophyton,and study Jurassic high-resolution sequence stratigraphy.We think that coal beds in this area were controlled by many factors,developed in early and late stage of long-term rise of base level and they were organically related to temporal and spatial evolution of sequences.
