Effect is the vitality of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). And TCM clinical efficacy is fundamental for the TCM survival and development. Scientific and objective evaluation of clinical efficacy is one of the questions that need to be solved at present. Disease and syndrome pattern combination model is an inevitable development of TCM. It reflects TCM and modern medicine complement each other. This article analyzes the current status of clinical efficacy evaluation. It points out the importance of TCM clinical evaluation under the disease and syndrome pattern combination model.
