Study Achievements on the Nature of TCM Syndromes Based on Metabonomics
基于代谢组学的中医证候本质研究进展

Development rate on research of TCM syndromes is slow. TCM syndromes are general functions and situations of the body. Simple clinical biomedical indicators or groups of indicators are unable to explain TCM syndromes properly. While the unbiased metabolite profiles, which is the new developed metabonomics, are in consistence with TCM syndromes based on holism concept. The import of ideas and technologies of metabonomics will bring a breakthrough on the research of the nature of TCM syndromes. This review highlights recent developments on the research of the nature of TCM syndromes. The utilization of metabonomics aims to facilitate the application of metabonomics in the field of TCM.
