Reflection on Chinese Medicine Formula Innovative Studies- Comment on the First Publication of Chinese Medicine Formula in Science Translational Medicine

In the latest issue of Science Translational Medicine, a study was published related to the beneficial effect of a modern laboratory formula derived from an ancient Chinese medicine formula termed Huangqin Tang in reducing the gastrointestinal toxic effects of irinotecan in chemotherapy. This study was performed by researchers from Yale University. It provides new research models and experiences for Chinese medicine formula investigation and development. In this commentary, the authors discussed the inspirational significance of this report.
