This work aimed to study the clinical distribution of TCM syndrome for cardiovascular diseases to provide a foundation for clinical diagnosis and treatment. We collected cases of cardiovascular diseases based on the unified scale, made diagnoses according to the syndrome differentiation criteria, and consequently analyzed the distribution of TCM syndrome for cardiovascular diseases. A total of 3021 cases of cardiovascular diseases were collected, including heart-qi deficiency 1677 cases (55.51%), heart-yang deficiency 603 cases (19.96%), heart-yin deficiency 699 cases (23.14%), phlegm 1121 cases (37.11%), stagnation of blood 1624 cases (53.76%), the syndrome of mixed deficiency and excess 2057 cases (68.10%), 517 cases with only deficiency (17.11%) and 447(14.80 %) cases with only excess. The results show that the clinical distribution of TCM syndrome for cardiovascular diseases is mostly mixed deficiency and excess, of which, heart-qi deficiency, heart-yang deficiency, heart-yin deficiency and plegm, stagnation of blood, and qi stagnation are the common syndrome.
