The analysis of the construction technology of the National Medicinal Plant Gene Bank
国家药用植物种质资源库建设技术分析

The construction of the National Medicinal Plant Gene Bank (NMPGB) is likely to be of profound and long-term significance for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and will strengthen China's position as a world leader in TCM modernisation. This paper describes progress of the NMPGB including its design,controlled storage (temperature and humidity) technology, moisture-proofing and seed handling systems. Not only does this paper outline the technologes and expertise required to construct such a gene bank, but it also serves to provide a model for the construction of other plant gene banks.
