Chemometrics and Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine
|
Abstract:
Chromatographic fingerprinting is a high-throughput and integral tool to explore the complexity of the herbal medicines. Essentially based on phytoequivalence, it has been widely used in quality control of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In order to further control the TCM comprehensive quality, as well as to confirm and identify their chemical components, some new strategies were presented in this work to trace the chemical changes of chromatographic fingerprints both in product processing and/or after their intake in the body by the modern chromatographic technique and chemometrics in combination. This method may help to reveal the working mechanism of TCMs and to further control their intrinsic quality.
