Experimental Study of Poge Jiuxin Decoction in the Treatment of Heart Failure Rat Models

This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, safety and mechanism of action of Poge Jiuxin decoction in the treatment of heart failure in rat model. The experiment animals were divided into the blank control group, model group and Poge Jiuxin decoction group. The general condition and mortality were recorded in each group. The electrocardiogram cardiac index and platelet membrane glycoprotein IIbIIIa concentration were detected among rats from each group. The results showed that compared with model group, Poge Jiuxin decoction group significantly performed better in the treatment of heart failure rats. The mortality rate of model group was 33.3%. And there was no death in the Poge Jiuxin decoction group and the blank control group. Compared with the model group, the electrocardiogram of Poge Jiuxin decoction group showed S-T segment drop and slow T wave. There was significant difference. There was no significant difference on the cardiac index (P > 0.05). And the GP-IIbIIIa concentrations was lower (P < 0.01). It was concluded that Poge Jiuxin decoction were effective in the treatment of heart failure rats. It is relatively safe. It may relate to the cardiotonic action and GP-IIbIIIa concentrations regulation by aconite root, dogwood, musk and etc.
