Mongolian Versions of Medical Canon in Four Sections(Si Bu Yi Dian)

This is a study of Mongolian versions of Medical Cannon in Four Sections (Si Bu Yi Dian), a classical Tibetan medical canon, in the context of its translation history. Authors believe that this work is unlikely to be translated into the Mongolian language before the 16th century. In the 17th century, there had appeared a Tuote Mongolian version that finally got lost. The earliest existing version is translated by a Mongolia scholar, Minzhu Daoerji with Xiang Huang Qi title, and printed in Beijing in xylograph, in the first half of the 18th century. Since 1949, the medical work had been translated twice into Mongolian by the Traditional Chinese and Mongolian Institute of Inner Mongolia, and published by the Inner Mongolian People' s Press. In 1987, Te·Temure proofread and revised the version produced in the18th century, and had it published by the Inner Mongolian Science and Technology Press. In 1991, Xing Helin revised the work and made it into a bilingual version of both Tibetan and Mongolian languages, which was published by the National Press.
