A Historical Obligation: Promoting the Modernization and Internationalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine

A delegation, headed by Wan Gang, Chinese Minister of Science and Technology, visited Hong Kong in December 10-12, 2008. During the visit, Wan and his party discussed the S&T cooperation ties between the mainland and Hong Kong with local officials. They also attended a seminar on the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine sponsored by Fok Ying Tung Graduate School, part of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Nansha. The following are the remarks made by Wan at the seminar, from which readers may derive a general picture of China's TCM modernization activities in the past decade.
