Fine expression and analysis of total chemical characteristics of material foundation of Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicines

It is an important part in the studies of the modernization of traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs)to develop applicable methods for the quality control of TCMs with new analytical techniques established in recent years.In this paper,a subject is proposed on the argument of how to express the total chemical characteristics of the material foundation of traditional Chinese herbal medicines(TCHMs),and according to the experience and on the basis of the application of such techniques as IHNMR,HPLC,IR and UV to establish the fingerprints of TCMs it is further proposed to establish a procedure with the method of phytochemical research for acquiring the standard and characteristic general constituents of TCMs,and to accomplish the study of the methodology for the fine expression of the total Chemical characteristics of TCMs so as to provide theoretical and experimental bases for the establishment of a method for the control of TCMs quality,which is able to demonstrate the total chemical characteristics as well as the features of multi-constituents and many targets of TCMs.
