Technology Roadmap and It Practical Application in Development-Planning of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry

Developing technology roadmap of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry is a new subject. This article introduced definition, application and methods of technology roadmap based on characteristics of TCM industry. Experiences and ideas of technology roadmap both at home and abroad were combined in the framework design of TCM industry. Requirement of TCM industry was made as the starting point. The developing process includes industry needs, industry targets, technology barriers analysis, and research and development requirements. Under the guidance of structural analysis in accordance with issues, needs and solutions to address a three-step model. Five key aspects were suggested as developing issues in TCM industry. The technology roadmap of TCM industry can also be used as reference for the design of technology roadmap in other industries.
