Abstract:

Extensive existing experimental results about eccentrically compressed components made of corroded reinforced concrete show that the bearing capacity and stiffness of eccentrically compressed components reduce to different degrees along with the corrosion rate of longitudinal tensile bars increasing. Moreover, ductility of reinforced concrete with eccentrically compressed components reduces due to the reinforcing steel bar corrosion, then component's brittle behavior emerges clearly, and failure mode of reinforced concrete with eccentrically compressed components may change. Study of the mechanism of structural behavior deterioration and failure characteristics of corroded reinforced concrete with eccentrically compressed components was carried out based on experimental results about an accelerated corrosion test of longitudinal tensile in prefabricated reinforced concrete columns. Relative boundary compressive region's height of non corroded component was corrected through fitting coefficient of strain incompatibility and calculation formula for relative boundary compressive region's height of corroded component was obtained based on existing calculation theory and test result analysis. Taking into account the weakening of cross section and the yield strength of corroded reinforcing steel bar and bonding capacity deterioration, a calculation method for normal section bearing capacity of corroded RC components is obtained. It may provide a scientific basis for durability and reliability evaluation of RC structure.
