Buckling of Plates with Hole Subjected to In-plane Shear

Abstract:
Experimental and numerical methods are used to study the stability rectangular plates with a circular hole, simply supported at all edges and subjected to in-plane shearing forces. An in-plane shear fixture is designed to test various kind of stiffened and unstiffened panels with a hole.The shear buckling loads are found and compared with those calculated by finite element method.
