Determination of the Threshold in VITA Scheme by Using Self-Correlation Method

The interrelation between the average burst period of coherent structures in wall turbulence and the threshold value K in VITA conditional sampling scheme for detecting coherent structure is investigated experimentally. It is shown that according to the coherent average burst period of coherent structure detected by selfcorrelation function of longitudinal fluctuating velocity component in wall turbulence,the threshold value K in VITA scheme can be determined reasonablly.
