Experimental Investigations on Stress Adjustability of Wave Absorbing Properties for Amorphous Ferromagnetic Fiber Filled Composites
|
Abstract:
A series of experimental investigations on electromagnetic dispersion characteristics of glass-coated amorphous ferromagnetic filled composite was performed based on free space transmission method and stress impedance effect of amorphous ferromagnetic fiber. The tested amorphous ferromagnetic fiber filled composite is(CoFeNiSiB)with glass-coated wire inclusions and epoxy resin. The investigation was focused on the factors effecting wave absorbing properties of this composite, especially the effect of acted stress on the adjustability of wave absorbing. Experimental results show that microwave transmission coefficient of the composite depends on fiber length and fiber array, including orientation and density etc. Tentative experiments about adjustable wave absorbing behavior based on amorphous ferromagnetic fiber were also carried out by applied tension stress and taking into account its Stress-Impedance(SI) effect. Stress adjustable behavior of the composite was demonstrated and interpreted. Above results can be used for microwave non-destructive testing and smart stealth technilogy.
