Abstract:

Understanding the stress field in the junction area of pressure vessel body and nozzle is the basis of vessel strength analysis and structure design. This article experimentally studies and analyzes the stress field in the junction area of pressure vessel and nozzle. According to industrial design standard, a cylindrical vessel model with two oblique nozzles was designed and manufactured. In experiment, the stress in the junction area of this model was tested by using electrometric stress-test method. The stress state and distribution in the junction area were obtained based on the experimental data. Results show that there are relatively high local stress on the acute angle side, obtuse angle side, and the lowest points of intersection line, respectively, but the effecting area of local stress on intersection line is small.
