A Multifractal Analysis of Portevin-Le Chatelier Effect in Al-Cu Alloy

Different from the structural analysis of strange attractor via traditional nonlinear dynamics,this paper usesa methodology of multifractal analysis to study multifractal behavior of Portevin-Le Chatelier effect in Al-Cu alloy with three different strain rates,in order to investigate the inner dynamical mechanism of different localized bands.Results show thatwhatever the band type is,there exists a multifractal structure on certain scales,and the homogeneity of stress signal is the highest for type B band.T...
