Device and Method for Testing Circumferential Mechanics Performance of a Thin Walled Tube
|
Abstract:
Circumferential mechanics performance of a thin walled tube is hard to test accurately using existing technology. So a set of device was designed and a way was put forward in order to overcome this drawback. Introduction of device structure and testing principle is presented in this paper and simulation of whole expansion testing process based on a finite element software ABAQUS. Testing results demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of this method. Finally, the testing device was applied to expand a hole of tube specimen made of 69111 stainless steel and circumferential mechanics performance data were obtained. This testing method can effectively solve the testing technical problem on the circumferential mechanics performance of a thin walled tube due to the material anisotropy. Circumferential mechanics performance of a thin walled tube may be obtained directly and effectively.
