The Measurement of the Unstable Thermal stress and Evaluating the Post-yield Stress Peak
|
Abstract:
The high thermal stress on the cylinder of a running engine could be caused by the starting and large variation of the load. The stress is very complex and may reach to a peak value exceeding the yield stress of the material. An efficient way of evaluating the peak stress is very important to operation safety. According to the engineering plastic theory the thermal stress on the cylinder are calculated and analyzed from the measured results. The causes of deformation and thermal fatigue damage of the cylinder arc also discussed.
