Phase Unwrapping Algorithm Based on Breadth-first Searching

To improve the technique for two dimensional phase unwrapping,which is widely used in optical interferometry, a new algorithm based on the strategy of breadth first searching on the phase map processed is proposed. The algorithm is more effective and especially suitable for use on phase maps with large noise area. To show the application of the new algorithm, a phase map from Mach Zehnder interferometer is processed by it. The result is satisfactory.
