A Novel Experimental Setup for Explosively Loaded Expanding Ring Test
|
Abstract:
Traditional experimental device for explosively loaded expanding ring utilizes detonator initiation at both ends and loads the driver by head-on collision of two detonation waves. This loading method has some chief shortcomings, such as lateral flip of sample ring after loading and poor experimental repeatability. To effectively avoid above-mentioned problems and improve the loading method of traditional experimental device, an axial wire synchronous initiation was adopted, which produces ideal cylindrical shockwave in the driver. Stable tensile loading for metal sample ring is achieved and experimental efficiency is enormously improved, based on this new loading method.
