Trying to start from the present situ ation and protection of rare and endangered Chinese medicinal resources and com-bining the presenta tion of related i nternational conventions and agreements on the protection of t hese reso urces,this article discusses the problems exis ting in the protection of rare and endangered Chinese medicinal resources and the countermeasures for them,and draws a conclusion as follows:Active legislation on the protection a nd the Application of modern biotechnologies to the tissu e dulture,cell cultur e and extra -body preservation of rare and endangered species of Chinese medici nal resources will be of far -reaching significance.
