Experimental Investigation on the Behavior of Recycle Concrete-Filled Thin-Walled Steel Tube under Axial Compression
|
Abstract:
This paper presented an experimental investigation on the behavior of 9 recycle concrete-filled circular thin-walled steel tube stub columns and 9 recycle concrete-filled square thin-walled steel tube stub subjected to axial compression, respectively. The differences among above specimen's axial deformations obtained by three measurement methods were compared and the deformation and failure characters were analyzed due to different section shapes and different replacement ratios of the recycle concrete. The loading capacity of recycle concrete-filled thin-walled steel tubes was calculated by using current design codes. At the same time, a conclusion was derived that this recycle concrete-filled thin-walled steel tube and common concrete-filled thin-walled steel tube have similar deformation and failure types, and replacement ratio of recycle concrete has some effects on load bearing capacity and deformation. In addition, the applicability of different codes in calculating loading capacity of recycle concrete-filled steel tubes was obtained based on the comparison of calculation results.
