On Analysis of Single Hot Wire Signals
|
Abstract:
Some comments on the method for analysis of single hot wire signals in measurement of turbulent flows are presented. Especially the prober value for the correaltion coefficient(which links the correlation and the root mean square of signals) and the convergence nature of the Taylor series describing instantaneous velocities are examined. It is suggested that the correaltion coefficient assumed by King should be corrected for flows with high turbulence and that an altermative simple way may be followed in case the taylor series for calculating instantaneous velocities diverges. An example of application is given.
