Construction of Jacobi Matrix from its Submatrix and Spectrum and |its Expansion

This paper considers the following problem: how to construct a Jacobi matrix from its spectrum and a submatrix. The numerical algorithms are given. Then we expand the result to the method of expanding a spring mass system to double dimension and the inverse problem of constructing a tridiagonal quadratic pencil.
