A Review of Application of Springtails in Ecological Risk Assessment of Contaminated Soils
|
Abstract:
With the development of research on ecological risk assessment of contaminated soils, how to choose an appropriate organism as indicator in risk assessment has become a hot topic. Springtails are widespread invertebrates in soils that are sensitive to soil pollutants, and they have good potential as an indicator of soil quality. However, the study on the application of springtail in soil ecological risk assessment is very limited. This review summarized the role of springtails in soil ecosystem; then described its application in ecological risk assessment in detail through the synthesis analysis of the test technology of ecotoxicity, the influence factors and the research progresses of springtail molecular ecological effect. Finally, the possible problems and perspectives of using springtails for ecological risk assessment of contaminated soil were discussed.
