ANNULI CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DIFFERENT AGEING MATERIALS OF Schizothorax pseudaksaiensis Herzenstein
|
Abstract:
According to the different age identification characteristics of rings annual research was carried on 39 samples of Racoma(R.) pseudaksaiensis(Herzenstein), sampled from the Yama river section of the Yili River in 2010 ~ April 1. 5 types of age identification material were investigated, including: surface scales, scales hip, vertebrae, otoliths and dorsal fin strips. The results showed that: there was no obvious characteristics of annual rings on scale surface, which therefore cannot be used as identification material, whereas the other four types of materials can be used as age determination materiasls for Schizothorax Ili; the results matches 100% for the 4 types of age identification material when the samples were 2 + age; high match rates were also observed in the 3 + 4 + age group, 87.3% and 85.4%, respectively; low match rates were found in 5 + 8 + age group. It is suggest that not only 1 identification materials should be used when the Ili Schizothorax individual is above age 3 +, but should be otolith-based, supplemented by other material to determine the age of the fish.
