Investigation on the crustacean zooplankton in newly constructed Pengshui Reservoir of the Wujiang River
|
Abstract:
Surverys on the crustacean zooplankton communities in the Pengshui Reservoir were carried out in April, July, October, 2008. There were 49 species in 29 generas of crustacean zooplankton in the the Pengshui Reservoir, among which 21 species in 13 generas was cladecera and 28 species in 16 generas was copepoda. The average densities of cladocerans and copepads were 1.89ind./L and 0.78ind./L, respecitively, and the average biomass for them were 37.70μg/L and 5.49μg/L, respecitively. As the seasons changed, the variation of crustacean zooplankton was obvious. The quantity species was the most in the spring(34) and the least(19) in the autumn. At the horizonal distribution, the species number of crustacean zooplankton in middle-lower reaches of the Pengshui Reservoir was higher than upper reaches, and the species number of crustacean zooplankton in the mainstreams was higher than that in the tributaries.
