Investigation on Zoobenthos in southern Taihu Lake

The investigation on zoobenthos was conducted in 9 sampling stations in southern Taihu lake from May to October in 2008. A total of 21 species of zoobenthos were recorded, which belonged to 11 families, and its dominant species were Corbicula fluminea and Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri, etc. The density and biomass of zoobenthos were 769 ind./m2 and 248.859g/ m2 respectively. The density and biomass of zoobenthos when outbreaking of cyanobacterial bloom were lower than that in normal time.
